“Queer Dàn – 雙煞祭 | The Dual Fiends Rite” unites “Shan Gui (山鬼)” by Sichi Li and “Yao San Hua (妖散華)” by Po-Fu Wu. “Shan Gui” animates objects with spectral sensuality, transforming material forms into hybrid beings of diaspora, longing, and mysticism. Through this process, a ritualized space of fracture and reconstruction emerges, engaging themes of visibility, belonging, and resistance. “Yao San Hua” shifts between deity and ghost, purity and chaos, confronting expectations from both society and queer communities, and distilling rupture into a self-fashioned celebration. Emerging from Queer Dàn Fantasy (2023), the work extends its decolonial vision, focusing on dual embodiment and ritualized encounter.
