good boys film club emerged from a shared encounter in the context of research into genderqueer histories.

Through an ongoing exchange of stories, knowledge and perspectives, a personal archive of trans films, photographs, ephemera and memories became a starting point for a mutual and intergenerational exchange.

Together, we bring these materials into dialogue with contemporary films and our own experiences. The series celebrates the knowledge and connections that can emerge through such encounters, creating a space to share, remember and imagine trans and queer lives across generations.

The screenings open up spaces to meet, watch and talk together: about friendship and chosen family, desire, loneliness, resistance and queer spatial practices and possible futures.

For trans and queer people, their friends, lovers, allies, and anyone curious about the stories and images that have and keep shaping us.

starting 23. September 26 / 7:30 pm with #1 dear Lou, I’M A FAG!

Screening:

dear Lou, I’M A FAG!

A screening about trans fags, gay masculinity, desire and self-invention – bringing Lou Sullivan’s story and legacy into conversation with films about trans men and fags seeing, desiring and representing themselves on screen.

As a trans man, activist, diarist and community historian, Lou helped make space for gay trans men at a time when their identities were largely erased from medical and social narratives – and helped them find each other, connect and build community.
