Lem TragNguyen [Performance]
Lem TragNguyen (she/ they) is a performance-based visual artist and curator, born in Germany and raised between Vietnam and Germany. Educated in an MFA program focused on the body, theory, and the poetics of performance art, she combines practice-led research with curatorial work. Her practice investigates origin, belonging, and the fluidity of identity within postcolonial realities, working with time, the body, and memory in transformation. Often using domestic materials, she turns processes of reconfiguration and performance into conduits for collective memory and intergenerational resonance.
Her works have been shown internationally at IN:ACT Performance Festival (Hanoi, 2017), Tranzit (Prague, 2019), Month of Art Practice (Vietnam, 2020–21), the 4th Industrial Art Biennial (Croatia, 2023), Documenta 15 (Kassel, 2022) with Nhà Sàn Collective, Suprainfinit Collisions (Bucharest, 2023), Spacedumpling at ifa-Galerie Stuttgart (2024), Museum und Galerie im Prediger (2025). In parallel, she curates programs including a film screening on the Vietnamese diaspora at the Linden Museum Stuttgart (2024) and a workshop at Schwules Museum Berlin (2025). In 2021, she founded Hay Là, an independent platform for performance art in Vietnam.
